While browsing the aisles of my favorite bookstore, I learned my story, “Big Two-Hearted Hunting Creek,” received special mention in the 2011 Pushcart Prize Anthology. Knew it was nominated, knew it didn’t win, but didn’t know that. A pleasant surprise.
